CHILLER!!!
Always a blast and we even make some money! I have almost no celebrity
photos from Chiller. Why? Well for the full story scroll to the
bottom of the page. I usually take my celebrity photos and shop on Sunday
but this particular one I was a bit sidetracked.
Here are my
few celeb photos

VAN AGAIN!!!! On our way to Harolds (aka Big Meat) and home of the WORLD'S
LARGEST PICKLE BAR!!!

So here
begins my story of why I didn't get celeb photos and WHY I HATE JERSEY EVEN MORE
than I did before this weekend
Sunday
afternoon I went to check out and put some of our tons of crap into the
truck. I had a nice Bellguy with me. I went to where I thought I
parked the truck but it wasn't there. So I looked more and more and more
and more. I took the keys with and repeatedly pressed the panic button
hoping to find the sucker with the horn blazing.
But no. . . it wasn't there. So yes, my new truck of less than 3 months
old was STOLEN!!!!!
I did not panic or get upset at all because I knew that I had so many awesome
friends at Chiller who would be happy to help out. I was right! Pete
was lucky enough to hang out with me while I talked to the police, my Dad, and
OnStar for a few hours (thanks Pete!) Damien and Sierra offered their help
too because they're so awesome. Kevin bought our dinner, the Sheraton gave
us a free room so we felt very loved! Among others to offer help, Steve
the t-shirt guy, Chuck and Tina, the NY couple that sells toys across from
Damien. . anyone I forgot?? Thanks so much to everyone!
So, anyway I spoke to the Rutherford Police (apparently another vehicle had been
broken into the same way but the thieves only stole their stuff, not their car
;) ), called my Father who got in touch with OnStar for me, and then I called
OnStar. Hey! It works! After about 4 hours they called and
said the car was located and that the cops were on their way to pick it
up. Condition of vehicle? No Idea. . . About an hour and a half
later the police called and told me it was at an impound in where????
NEWARK OF COURSE!
The armpit of America. They couldn't or wouldn't give me the
condition of the vehicle either and told me I had to wait until morning. . .
kind of frustrating not knowing the condition and whether or not it would be
drivable etc but I was very very lucky to have found it. So Kirsten and I
took our time packing the booth and then chilled for the evening. Free
room, free dinner but no massages. . darnit. We had lots of time to
chill so Kirsten took it upon herself to write "Jersey Sucks" in the
yellow pages of the phone book in the room. Definitely a necessary job.
Monday morning the awesome lady at Enterprise in the hotel rented us a car so we
could go to the police dept in Newark. . .greaattt. Believe it or not
there was a line for "saving your vehicle from Jersey". So I
waited probably not much more than an hour. The process took no longer
than 10 minutes and I had no problems!!!! Except of course "no we cannot
tell you the condition of your vehicle". . . of course. On the way to
the impound we saw lots of garbage trucks, signs with bullet holes and what we
decided were Newark High Rises. See pictured below. These are homes
built on stilts to hopefully deter robbers. (Maybe they weren't but it was
a good idea at the time) So Kirsten and I drove to the Impound DENTE
brothers (how appropriate eh?). The owners were two Italian
brothers. They were smoking in their trailer office complete with wooden
panel siding and a map of Cicely on the wall. I paid them their impound
money and went out to the truck. . . and. . . and. .. there are pictures below.
. . it was fine!!! The thieves didn't even steal my cds!!!! The only
damage was: the passenger door lock was blown and there is a chip on that
door. That's it! So I was the luckiest person to get her car stolen
ever I think. Kirsten and I were going to dedicate a song to the radio
station the guys (or gals) had set on my radio saying "To the car thieves
who stole the LIX Yukon. Thanks for not stealing my cd's or anything else
out of the car! You guys are the best car thieves ever!!!"
So we had it towed to the hotel (don't worry-insurance covered it) and we packed
up and left!

On the way
home we stopped in Easton PA to go to the Crayola Store. But guess what. .
. it was closed for inventory! Terds. So we stopped by the Pez
museum which was closed on Mondays along with many other businesses in
Easton. Too bad! We will come back because we found THE BEST CANDY
STORE EVER!!!
THE CARMELCORN STORE
62 Centre Sq, Easton, PA 610-253-6461
A 72 year old candy shop complete with old Italian guys sitting on the bench in
front. They had the best candy including homemade caramels, SenSen, peanut
brittle, violet gum, toilet candy, candy cigarettes and much more! I think
I spent more money there than at Chiller. . .even Kirsten's dog
approves!

To end the
journey. .. a parking ticket for me :)
